Seraphine is built around padding rather than a flat panel of fabric. A thick, soft filling lifts the silk away from the eyes, so the mask rests lightly on the face, and it holds its shape rather than pressing flat when lying on one side. That loft also helps the mask sit close to the face and fill the gap at the nose where light tends to get in.
The outer layer is 22 momme mulberry silk, a heavier weight than the thin silk used on many masks. It has a smooth, cool, soft feel and a gentle drape, which makes it comfortable to wear through the night.
The strap is fully adjustable and sits flat, so it can be set to a comfortable tension rather than gripping, and it is designed not to catch hair at the back of the head. The whole mask is washable and packs down small enough to live in a bag for flights and hotel rooms.
